I've been really inspired lately to write. I'm pretty incapable of writing anything longer than 1500 words so all my stuff is fairly short. I decided to post what I have so I can get some feedback and constructive criticism.

The first peice is a poem called Epiphany (it wasn't banned, so I'm hoping it ok to post a poem). It's based of a major discovery of mine, but can be interpreted other ways as well.

Next is a story I wrote for my school's writing contest. I love it. It's not excactly fanfiction, but it's based off a character that already exists. Please don't hate me. The story is called Morality.

The last piece I want to post is a little blurb I wrote randomly during english class one day. I'm not exactly sure what it's about and I don't know where I'm going with it, but I really like it. Maybe you can give me some ideas.

Thanks much!

Current writing theme: Demon Hunter-The Tide Began to Rise

Warning: This chapter has not seen a beta read yet

Title: TOUCHED

Summary: Leah has always known she was different, it was hard not too when you see things that people normally don't. Not to mention, her family has a knack for disappearing...and ending up in the crazy house. When her mother disappeared from her locked bedroom on her ninth birthday, Leah knew whoever was after them meant business. After almost nine years of keeping her head down, one new student threatens her silence.

TOUCHED-12Down the Rabbit Hole

This was it.

This was the moment I’ve been waiting for since I was nine years old. A chance to get the answers to the questions that had haunted me night and day for more than half my life.

The moment that I had prepared for, had agonized over and had nightmares of.

Finally, almost to the day, I came face to face with someone that could answer all of my questions. And then some.

So I planted my feet, looked him in the eye…

…and hit him square in the face with everything I’ve got. And everything I've got was considerable.

Welcome to Creative Writer!

This is your official welcome mat, an introduction to the fun which is our

community and an entreaty for you to join in.

How does it work?

Creative Writer is an online version of a writers' group. While writing

itself is usually a solitary occupation, what all writers need is contact

with other people who can give feedback, answer questions and, as with all

professions, provide guidance and a learning environment. While all artists

create their work, they can't create in a vacuum.

A writers group provides that environment. Here you are able to post

excerpts from your work and receive feedback, here you can learn from other

writers, here you can contribute to others, here is a safe place to grow

your talent.

So welcome to Creative Writer! Jump in, have some fun, any questions, feel

free to ask at any time.

Merry meet everyone!

I normally live in Oregon, though i'm actually in Germany for a year, but when I saw this community, I was glad there was a pagan community for somewhere I actually live.

I have been into Wicca and Paganism and Witchcraft for 7 years now, and have been practicing some sort of strange combo of different traditions, in a way. I mainly classify myself as pagan.

Anyway, after a year of reading the posts here and occasionally posting here, by the time I have to go back to Oregon, I will be ready for networking and such.

I have the brainjumble.   I can edit an entry here, but not my thoughts, which have for days been tumbling over each other like multiple litters of puppies in a too-small cardboard box; muzzle of this thought, tail of of another, random belly . . .

Dualities of modern life:

On the one hand, Esmerelda, I am pleased that my hard work to quell my road rage seems to be taking root.  I'm trying hard not to be late for anything, and quite frankly, if I am, too bad.  I don't need to get there that fast.  And those a**holes on the road?  The ones that blow past me, and take my lane and theirs too, and go too fast, or can't get within 20 MPH of the speed limit in their laboring beater?  They don't have anything to do with me!   [I admit that people who cut me off often get the 'let me keel you!' reaction, highbeams and tailgating and all.  I'ma workin on that.]

On the other, George, working out of the house just seems to foster a conviction that really, one doesn't need to leave the house.  Absent court dates or client appointments,  I find it very hard to bother to go elsewhere.  Yes, they will find me buried in a pile of cat hair . . .

I don't seem to be very productive here in my home office.  That's counterintuitive.  I don't waste time on a commute most days,  or have to go somewhere to buy lunch.  There are multiple distractions here, not limited to LJ, and shelves of books I love.  At least I don't watch (or haven't, so far) TV during the day.

I am on the Nanowagon, but two days into it fell off when I had my mother over to dinner.  My newly discovered cooking skillz (cough, cough) haven't poisoned her yet.  I might if she keeps inviting herself to stay for the evening after dinner.  She hates being alone, which wouldn't be a problem if she could just not have to have constant input and/or be right on top of me.  Is it sad that 2 hours of my mom one on one is about all I can stand?

Random observation of (inner ring sub)urban living:
Some woman outside screaming at the rapid transit driver, "Stop! Stop!  I dropped my keys!  Stop!" I didn't hear the rapid transit car even slow.   Luckily for her, the end of the line is only two blocks away, but boy, that sucks.  It's raining-trying-to-start-snowing; one of the most unpleasant precipitations, next to hail.

But speaking of water, I am adjusting, every so slowly, to the little, tiny water pitcher.

Aren't you glad I share with you?

I started a new project a couple of years ago, but I never got very far with it. I wrote a few episodes/chapters (and I’ve lost one!!) and tried to plan the whole thing, but… I put the whole thing on ice, and turned to other projects, because I couldn’t figure out the details. I’m still thinking about it sometimes, though.

It’s a fantasy story. My problem is that I don’t have much of a plot, or "a bad guy"; in other words, not much action. But the vague contours of the story are something like this:

(Any opinion you could have would be much appreciated!)

The empire strikes back

In recent weeks, we've taken huge steps towards blocking spam accounts on LiveJournal. In fact, we've suspended as many as 30,000 accounts in a single day! We've implemented several pre-emptive measures to prevent the creation of spam accounts, and we've honed our detection of suspicious content. Spam bots are a crafty lot, so we'll continue to refine our tactics and keep up the good fight to keep you safe from spam attacks on LiveJournal.

RSS feeds again

If you're addicted to [info]xkcd_rss, [info]icanhaschzbrgr, or other syndicated feeds, we're pleased to report that we've resolved the update error that was mucking up your RSS feeds. While content was being pulled correctly, it wasn't being posted to the feeds themselves. Late last week, we finally nailed down what we hope was the root problem, so content should post properly. We thank you for your patience.
